Ehsaas scholarship Programme 2021 apply online deadline extended

ISLAMABAD: The government’s social security program Ehsas has extended the deadline for scholarship applications by one month to allow more eligible students to apply.

The deadline for submitting online applications has been extended to 31 December 2021. Prior to that, the deadline was November 30, 2021.

“Due to delays in admissions to several government colleges across the country, the deadline for Ehsas Scholarship applications has been extended.” Senator Dr. Sania Nishtar said in an official statement, “This decision was taken to allow as many eligible students as possible to apply for this opportunity.”

Since the site reopened in the first week of September 2021, approximately 77,210 applications have been submitted, of which a further 23,740 are in the process of being submitted.

Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarships are for students from low-income families who earn less than Rs. 135 public sector universities recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) are part of this program.

Students enrolled in four- to five-year undergraduate programs at public sector universities are eligible to submit scholarship applications for the year 2021. Eligible students can apply through online portal: https://ehsaas.hec.gov.pk/.

In the last two years, 142,000 Ehsas Scholarships have been awarded to undergraduate students across the country. This year 50,000 scholarships will be given to deserving students. Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship includes 100% tuition fee and monthly stipend.

Recipients who have received the Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship in the last two years will continue to receive the scholarship based on their academic performance until the completion of the undergraduate degree.

The total budget of the program is Rs. 24 billion. In four years, 200,000 undergraduate scholarships will be awarded on a need-to-merit basis and 50% of the scholarships are for girls.
